Stem Cell Therapy for Shoulder Pain Treatment

Our shoulders provide us with a wide range of mobility, making this area of our bodies susceptible to pain and injury. When activity modifications and rest do not provide relief from shoulder pain, surgery, and stem cell therapy are considered viable treatment options.

While surgical procedures such as shoulder arthroscopy and total shoulder replacements have proven effective treatments for severe shoulder conditions and injuries, they necessitate extensive rehabilitation and a lengthy recovery period.

Stem Cell Therapy for Shoulder Pain Treatment

Choosing stem cell therapy as an alternative to shoulder surgery reduces the risk and time involved significantly. In contrast to surgery, many patients can resume their normal daily activities shortly after receiving stem cell therapy.

The Advantages of Stem Cell Therapy for Shoulder Pain

Unlike surgery, which has risks, stem cell therapy is a minimally invasive procedure that uses only your stem cells to repair damaged tissue. We use cutting-edge technology at the Renew Medical Centre to treat chronic and acute shoulder pain with stem cell and PRP therapies.

These regenerative medicine procedures are much faster to recover from than surgery, and many patients report that they are painless.

What Is the Process of Stem Cell Therapy?

Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that exist in our bodies and can self-renew. Stem cells can regenerate, which allows them to repair damaged or injured tissue. We only use your mesenchymal stem cells, or adult stem cells, at the Renew Medical Centre to promote healing in the body. We extract these cells from your bone marrow in the pelvis, also known as the iliac crest.

We use bone marrow from the iliac crest because studies have shown that this area contains a high concentration of adult stem cells.

Stem Cell Therapy

Many patients consider stem cell therapy a painless procedure with little to no downtime following the process. We use advanced, cutting-edge technology for each procedure performed in our office. You must consult our team before being considered for a regenerative medicine procedure, such as stem cell therapy, to ensure that you are a good candidate for the treatment.

After being approved for the procedure, you will be given a list of medications and supplements to avoid before and after. Some medications, such as anti-inflammatories, may interfere with the healing process for stem cell and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy.

The procedure is carried out in one of our lovely treatment rooms with the help of an ultrasound machine. The process starts with cleaning and numbing the skin and bone surrounding the pelvis. A special needle is then inserted into the iliac crest to extract stem cells from the bone marrow blood. Aspiration is usually painless and is carefully performed by one of our doctors.

Once the appropriate amount of bone marrow blood has been obtained, the blood tube is spun in our facility’s high-spinning centrifuge. The machine concentrates the blood mixture, separating most stem cells from the other cells.

Other than centrifugation, these cells are not subjected to any further manipulation. This concentrated source of potent stem cells is then re-injected into the site of pain or injury to promote body healing.

These procedures are considered minimally invasive and are performed as outpatient procedures. We advise patients to plan the process lasting 90 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Is stem cell therapy effective for shoulder arthritis?

Stem cell therapy for shoulder arthritis is the most advanced non-surgical regenerative treatment option. Stem cells for shoulder arthritis boost the body’s natural ability to repair, replace, and regenerate damaged tissue. Stem cell therapy is a non-surgical treatment that does not require a skin incision.
Aside from reducing the pain and inflammation caused by shoulder arthritis, stem cells for the shoulder also prevent the condition from progressing and protect the health of the surrounding tissue.

2. Is it possible to treat severe shoulder arthritis with a stem cell injection?

Shoulder arthritis is a degenerative condition characterized by cartilage wear and tear in the shoulder. Stem cell injections derived from the patient’s bone marrow are ideal for treating severe shoulder arthritis.

Stem cell injections for shoulder osteoarthritis promote natural healing and the regeneration of healthy cartilage tissue.

3. Is stem cell therapy effective for torn rotator cuffs?

For patients who require shoulder replacement surgery, stem cell therapy is a highly effective treatment option. For patients who have exhausted all conservative options and require shoulder replacement surgery, stem cell therapy is the best option. Stem cell therapy for rotator cuff tears effectively treats acute to chronic shoulder cartilage degeneration.

4. How effective is shoulder stem cell therapy?

Stem cell therapy for the shoulder is one of the most influential and cutting-edge non-surgical treatments, allowing many patients to avoid surgery. Stem cell therapy for the shoulder is a successful treatment option for people who want to avoid surgery for shoulder problems like arthritis, torn rotator cuffs, and other shoulder degeneration issues.

Patients who received stem cell therapy for shoulder pain reported significant pain relief.

5. How long does it take to recover from a stem cell injection?

Stem cell treatments provide significantly faster recovery and rehabilitation than other conservative treatments and surgery. The recovery time for stem cell injections is less than a few weeks, and patients can return to routines within 2 to 3 days.

The post-recovery rehabilitation period includes regular physiotherapy exercises to accelerate and effectively accelerate the healing process.
