“I could not walk. I could not bend. I could not hardly get up out of the bed in the morning. Since I’ve had this injection, the pain has been minimalized – no pain at all. I’m able to go for simple walks. I’m able to walk on my treadmill. I get up out of the bed in the morning without any resistance, any pain.”

When Rachel came to Renew Medical Centers, she said she was experiencing pain in her knee with levels as high as a nine on a scale of one to ten.

After a thorough examination of her knee, it was determined that a regenerative treatment was a viable option for Rachel.

Renew Medical Centers is the place patients go for non-surgical treatment of joint arthritis and other musculoskeletal problems.

In this video, Rachel discusses how she’s doing three months after her regenerative treatment.

Dr. Baker (Dr): All right everyone. I’m here with one of my all-time favorite patients, Miss Rachel. And she’s also one of the best smelling patients I’ve ever had. So yeah, she owns her own cologne business and perfume business. So, she always smells wonderful. Anyway, so we’re talking about her knee injection that happened three months ago. And why don’t you tell everyone how your knee was feeling before the injection? Like what couldn’t you do?

Rachel (R): I could not walk. I could not bend. I could not hardly get up out of the bed in the morning. Since I’ve had this injection, the pain has been minimalized – no pain at all. I’m able to go for simple walks. I’m able to walk on my treadmill. I get up out of the bed in the morning without any resistance, any pain. It’s just been wonderful.

Dr: That’s fantastic. Good. And then when we did your re-evaluation today, your pain initially was at an eight or nine. And then what number did you circle today on your revaluation.

R: Two.

Dr: Two. So, your pain essentially went from nine to a two.

R: And the two, Dr. Baker, is only when I noticed that it’s been raining. I get a little bit of swelling and things, but on a day-to-day basis, I have no pain.

Dr: That’s wonderful. And again, this is just a three-month follow-up.

R: Yeah.

Dr: So, what’s really encouraging is that the regenerative process happens over time, and you’re going to continue to get better and better over the next, you know, nine months to a year. So, yes, that’s exciting.

R: It’s wonderful. It’s exciting.

Dr: Well, very good. And then, last question is would you do this again?

R: I definitely would and I have referred you to about two of my co-workers and family members.

Dr: I appreciate that so much. Well, thank you so much.

R: You are so welcome.

Regenerative treatment is a viable alternative for addressing problems that cause chronic knee pain.

Along with surgery, the traditional medical treatments for knee pain have been physical therapy, exercise, pain medications, anti-inflammatories, and steroid injections. These will sometimes alleviate pain but are often ineffective at addressing the actual condition.

Regenerative cell therapy involves allowing your body to heal itself, using naturally occurring cells, and growth factors. Treatment assists your body in regenerating tissue, reducing pain, and reducing inflammation in damaged muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and bone.

Regenerative therapy is a low risk, viable alternative to surgery. As discussed, it is a completely different approach to treating chronic knee pain.

As opposed to going under the knife and replacing the knee with a metal knee or addressing tendon and ligament tears with surgery, regenerative treatment gives the patient an opportunity for their body to heal degenerated and injured tissue.

With any medical treatment, there are no guarantees that it will or will not work for a patient. Each patient’s condition is unique. There are some cases where a patient will not be a candidate for regenerative treatment.

Other than the knee, areas treated also include back/spine, neck, hips, shoulders, hands and wrists, feet and ankles, and more.
