No. While stem cell therapy is often what people have heard of as it relates to regenerative medicine, there are many different types of regenerative treatments that are not currently considered stem cell therapy. Other forms of regenerative medicine include multiple types of growth factor allograft treatments and PRP (platelet rich plasma). Providing multiple types of regenerative treatments allows our medical team to provide the most appropriate treatment for each individual patient’s medical condition and needs.
It depends on the treatment. At this time, insurance does not cover regenerative treatments provided by Renew Medical Centers. However, the costs are reasonable compared to what typical out of pocket expenses are for surgery, physical therapy, and other options such as steroid injections. We also have multiple payment options available when necessary to make treatment as affordable as possible.
In general, for the advanced regenerative treatments we provide, this is typically a one-time treatment for a patient’s individual area of need. Effective regenerative therapy reduces inflammation, stops the arthritic process, and regenerates cells in the problem area. For example, treatment for a left knee will typically be a one-time event. However, each patient and their condition is unique. Our medical team will assess and discuss your individual condition and needs during your consultation and will give you an answer and treatment plan specific to you.
If you are unable to get surgery due to co-morbidities (additional diseases or disorders), regenerative treatment may be a viable option for you. This treatment is minimally invasive and anesthesia is not needed.
